Summary

  • Emphasizes the importance of drinking clean, toxin-free water as a foundational step in improving health and supporting the body.
  • Recommends increasing daily water intake, often tied to body weight, to ensure proper hydration and bodily function.
  • Advises avoiding contaminated or poor-quality water sources that may contain chemicals, toxins, or pathogens.
  • Highlights that some purified water (e.g., reverse osmosis) may lack minerals, so electrolyte and mineral supplementation may be necessary.
  • Encourages adding natural mineral sources (like clean salts or electrolytes) to support balance in the body.
  • Stresses that hydration plays a key role in detoxification, energy levels, and immune function.
  • Suggests being mindful of beverages that dehydrate or harm the body (e.g., sugary drinks, artificial beverages) and replacing them with clean water.
  • Notes that proper hydration can support digestion, nutrient absorption, and overall cellular health.
  • Reinforces consistency—clean water intake should be a daily habit, not occasional.
  • Overall message: clean, mineral-balanced water is essential for maintaining health and supporting recovery.

Transcript:

What is wrong with tap water?

  • Tap water is tested only for a few dozen toxins. It is not tested for, nor does it filter out:
    • many pesticides
    • petroleum products
    • prescription drugs
    • birth control pills
    • over the counter medications
    • fluoride
  • Tap water often contains fluoride, which is a neurotoxin

An inexpensive water tester for travel

What about Well Water?

You need to test Well water to find out if it is contaminated

  • Water test link: watercheck.com
  • Isn’t my refrigerator filter good enough? (see below)

What about Spring water in my area?

  • Check the website, findaspring.org to find locations of publicly available springs near you.
  • Check to see how often the spring water is tested and which tests are done or test it yourself.

What about my refrigerator or most under the sink filters?

  • Refrigerator filters remove only about 50% (half) of heavy metal contaminants and 0% (none) of many other types of  contaminants such as some pharmaceuticals.
  • Most under-the-sink-filters also remove only about 50% (half) of heavy metal contaminants and none or very little of other types of contaminants such as some pharmaceuticals.

What about Brita and similar filters?

  • Brita filters remove only about half of contaminants and none of some types of  contaminants.

What about Bottled Spring Water?

  • If there is a natural spring near you that is tested regularly this is a great option. FindASpring.com has listings of springs that are tested.
  1. Among bottled water bottled spring water is your best choice BUT….. The issue is that there are nano-plastics in a large percentage of bottled water. They did a study in 4 major cities and found plastics in 25% of bottled water.
  2. The bottles themselves also leach chemicals, BPAs and other chemicals, especially when heated. You have no control over what happens in a hot shipping container or truck that gets over 130 degrees in the summer.
  3. Recommendation for Spring Water: Mountain Valley Spring Water or Poland Spring and get the hard plastic not soft bottles.

What about reverse osmosis?

  1. Reverse osmosis filters remove ALL the good minerals along with the bad minerals. This means you are drinking dead water. Reverse Osmosis is necessary in some cases in areas where the water is very bad.
  2. If you use reverse osmosis water, you MUST add good minerals to all the water you drink.
    • Some reverse osmosis filters add back in several minerals. In addition to these you need one or more of the following:
    • ReMyte
    • AussieTraceMinerals.com
    • Nutramedix Deep Ocean Trace Mineral capsules
    • MorningStar Minerals Energy Boost 70 Concentrate Fulvic Minerals) to all water you are drinking
    • Redmond Sea Salt under the tongue (contains around 86 minerals)
  • Watch this 20 minute video on a detailed testing analysis of the Berkey Filter (AlexaPure is an equivalent filter).
  • Watch Clean Water Sunday Recording Dec 18, 2022. This is important education about Water even if you choose a less expensive option.

Berkey and other Gravity filters.

  • Independent Labs confirmed Berkey carbon filters get out 99.9 percent of most contaminants with the carbon filters and 95% of the fluoride with the additional fluoride filters.
  • Berkey is available in Europe and in the US it may have limited availability given an ongoing lawsuit.
  • AlexaPur filter is a Berkey filter relabeled
  • ProOne replacement filters are an excellent alternative also and fit into Berkey and AlexaPur filters.
  • There are other gravity filters available. Look at the contaminants and

What about Whole House filters

  • There are so many whole house filtration systems out there the most important thing is to do your own research , look at independent lab results for what percentage of contaminants are removed. Many whole house filters re-mineralize the water with a few minerals. You will still need to take supplemental minerals (see above).
  • If a whole house filter is out of your budget,

How much water should you drink?

What most doctors recommend is:

  • 1/2 oz per pound of body weight each day.
  • If you are 150 lbs, that is roughly 75 oz, equivalent to:
    • Nine 8-oz glasses
    • Six 12-oz glasses
    • Four to Five 16-oz glasses

Best way to drink water:

  • For best absorption, drink water slowly throughout the day rather than all at once.
  • Ideally drink mineralized structured water.
  • Stop drinking about 30 min before each meal and resume 30 min after each meal . This avoids diluting hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes in the stomach.
  • Reminder: distilled and reverse osmosis water removes the minerals from the water. This means not only do you need to replace minerals (see above) but also this water is not as hydrating as mineralized water and structured water (see above).

Things to keep in mind:

  • Symptoms of Abnormal dry skin in face and ears can be most of the time dehydration or deficiency of certain essential oils.
  • If your skin is dehydrated you are profoundly dehydrated in you internal organs, which is critically important to carry nutrient into your cells and carry toxins out.

Are your cells absorbing the water you are drinking?

If you have edema in your extremities (if you press down with your finder and see a fingerprint), it could be that you are not absorbing the water into your cells.

  • Structured water can assist
  • A drop of glycerin in water can help
  • Lymphatic drainage may be insufficient (see Kidney and Lymphatic Step)

What about Structured Water

Structured water is water that has been through a structuring process that re-engergizes the water.

Here is a 2 minute introduction to structured water:

In times past we got our water from natural springs where it is already naturally structured in healthy crystalline form. Today most water coming from a tap is treated dead, usually chlorinated water that has lost its original healthy crystalline structuring.

Structured Water has been shown to have the following benefits:

  • improve cellular hydration, and the body’s ability to get fluids into the cells
  • energizes the cells, improves cell function, improves the electrical current in the body
  • improves the body’s ability to heal
  • promotes growth in plants
  • helps with detoxification

Even if you use filtered tap water, if it does not include structuring, then it still needs to be structured. There are many inexpensive ways to structure water after it has been filtered.

Ways to Structure Water

  • Put water through a vortex spinner, similar to a stream (Natural Action Technologies is one)
  • Use a stick (Annelemma)
  • Structured water has been shown to

Avoid Microwaved Water (and food)

Microwaves denature the water.

See video below on how thoughts affect water.

  • While watching this video remember our bodies are 70% water.
  • Almost every culture in the world, blesses their food (including water) before eating.

Hydrogen Water

  • Hydrogen water is regular water infused with extra molecular hydrogen gas (H2) to act as a therapeutic antioxidant that reduces inflammation and oxidative stress
  • Studies suggest potential benefits like improved athletic performance, better metabolism, and reduced age-related inflammation, generally without significant side effects.
  • While considered safe, it is expensive and the hydrogen gas escapes quickly, requiring immediate consumption
  • There are considerable differences in cost and quality of hydrogen water. Do your research

Deuterium Depleted Water

  • Deuterium-depleted water (DDW) is specially processed water with a lower concentration of deuterium (a heavy hydrogen isotope) than natural water, typically reducing levels from 155 to below 125 ppm
  • There is scientific evidence that DDW enhanced cellular energy (mitochondrial function), improves metabolic health, and can as an adjuvant therapy for cancer, potentially slowing cell division

Alkaline Water

  • Alkaline water has a pH higher than 7 (usually 8-9) and contains minerals like calcium, potassium and/or sodium. While promoted for enhanced hydration and acid reflux relief, scientific evidence is limited, and the body naturally regulates its own pH. It is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) but can be expensive.
  • Kangen water is the most well-known alkaline water system. There are mixed reviews on whether or not this helps.
  • While pH is important in the body many functional practitioners believe there are more effective ways to alkalanize the body

Inexpensive Action items:

  • Consider getting a Berkey or AlexaPure Filter or Use Spring Water
  • Get a Shower Filter Even if this is a carbon filter with limited filtration with hot water, yet it is better than no filter at all
  • Consider getting an inexpensive water structure device Cobalt natural action portable structurer see HealingALS.org/Products or IteraCare Wand or Analemma wand
  • Put labels like Love and Gratitude on the outside of your water pitchers and glasses.
  • Research Hydrogen Water and Deuterium depleted water to see if these are

As you can see, water quality is essential for improving your amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ALS disease life expectancy. Unclean water magnifies ALS symptoms, so clean water is vital for reversing the neurodegenerative condition.

Check for Understanding and Completion

  1. ____Why do I not want to drink tap water? Write down 6 reasons.
  2. ____Why is a Brita filter not a good option?
  3. ____Why is reverse osmosis not necessarily the best option for water, but may be appropriate with?
  4. ____ I watched the testing analysis video of the Berkey filter. What contaminants did he look at that surprised you?
  5. ____ I watched the December 18 2022 presentation by Leo on Sunday recordings and noted things to add to the above.Presentation by17 ALS Reversals video.
  6. ____ I am no longer using tap water nor Brita filtered water nor refrigerated filtered water. If I am using bottled spring water temporarily I am looking into purchasing at a minimum a basic Berkey or equivalent gravity filter and a shower filter. I can look into more expensive options at a future date.
  7. ____ I have, or plan to research hydrogen water and deuterieum depleted water.

If you have checked all boxes, Congratulations! You have completed Step 7!
